Phu Quoc reclaims 43,000 sqm for fishing village tourism project

Authorities in Phu Quoc have reclaimed more than 43,000 square metres of land for the Vung Trau Nam Fishing Village Residential Tourism Area project.

The Phu Quoc Special Zone administration in An Giang Province said on August 19 that enforcement teams had carried out compulsory land recovery and dealt with several land management violations in Bai Thom Commune.

More than 43,000 square metres of land occupied by a resident in Rach Tram Hamlet was reclaimed for the tourism and residential project.

Authorities also took enforcement action against seven other cases in Bai Thom involving the illegal occupation of more than 659 square metres of public land managed by the Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board.

The violators were ordered to remove structures, restore the land to its original condition and return more than VND 100 million (USD 3,800) to the state budget.
