
Scene of the incident
Thanh Hoa Railway Enterprise quickly sent employees to the scene to repair the train. The passengers were transferred back to Thanh Hoa Station while another carriage was prepared. The train resumed operation at 5 am. Three other trains were delayed because of the incident.
In order to prevent more accidents, Vietnam Railways Corporation will install dash cams on the train. The cameras will monitor drivers and railway signals and how the railway staff manage rail crossings.
According to the Vietnam Railways Corporation, there were 25 train accidents in August.
On September 3, a Hanoi-HCM City train crashed with an excavator on the railway in Quang Binh Province. Three carriages were derailed and three people were injured.
