People sent to Thanh Mien District Medical Centre
The police and the communal authorities will set up checkpoints along roads leading to the village to control traffic and prevent further spreading. Starting from March 19, markets and places with large crowds will be closed down.
The district medical centre must have a suitable quarantine treatment plan. They will take samples for tests and find resources in case there is an outbreak. The villagers will be given disinfectants to clean the place themselves.
After calling for people who have made contact with the first patient and who came into contact with them afterwards to come out, 40 people have been quarantined. 26 people are home-isolated.
The first patient in Hai Duong and the 73rd in Vietnam is an 11-year-old boy. He returned to Vietnam with his family from London on Vietnam Airlines flight VN0054 on March 9. He is in stable condition and being treated at Thanh Mien Medical Centre.
After landing at Noi Bai, the family of five were brought home in a private car. They later invited relatives to eat dinner together.
