A four-year-old boy has drowned after falling off a boat in Ha Long City.

Authorities in Ha Long City announced on Monday morning that they had recovered the body of the boy at 7 am.
Reports from local authorities said that the accident occurred at 7pm on Sunday when the boy was playing with his older brother on their family's fishing boat which was anchored at a local wharf.
"As they were playing it suddenly rained and the boy fell into the sea while trying to run inside," the report said. "His mother also rushed out to see him falling and called for help but the strong water currents made the rescue work difficult."
Rescue teams worked through the night but were unable to find the boy.
At 6.30 am on July 15, his body was found at a beach some 1.5 kilometres away from their boat by a local fisherman.
