He made the call at a regular press briefing in Hanoi on October 8 in response to reporters’ queries about Vietnam’s citizen protection following Cambodia’s plan to relocate Vietnamese in Tonle Sap (Great Lake), which worried several poor households about their long-term housing.
Upon hearing the news, the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia has been working closely with relevant Cambodian authorities to assist the Vietnamese community living in the area, Binh added.
“In the spirit of the traditional friendship and neighbourliness between the two countries, we hopes that the Cambodian administration and functional agencies would take care and make it easier for the Vietnamese community in Cambodia to lead their lives and do business in a stable manner with secure legitimate rights and interests,” he concluded.
