According to the Office of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, as of 5 pm on Tuesday, the death toll increased to five, including two from Quang Tri Province and one each from Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam and Binh Dinh provinces.

Floods from heavy rains in the central region over the few days have left nine dead and missing
Meanwhile, four people from Quang Nam, Binh Dinh and Quang Ngai provinces were reported missing after being swept away by floods.
As of Monday, heavy rainfall inundated over 4,640 houses, 9,074ha of rice and 918ha of vegetables, killed almost 16,300 heads of fowl and cattle, destroyed 47.4km of dykes and over 58.5km of roads in central localities.
The water levels in rivers in Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh have decreased. However, rivers from Quang Binh to Phu Yen provinces have been forecasted to see rising levels in the days to come. Warnings over flash floods and erosion have also been issued in these localities.
