Floods have taken the lives of 64, left 22 missing and caused 75 injuries in central Vietnam.
Quang Binh province was hardest-hit with 44 fatalities.
According to the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control, the deluge has also ruined and swept away up to 150,929 houses in the five local provinces of Quang Binh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue.
The government, ministries and agencies are actively giving support to flood victims to help them stabilise their lives. Over the past three days, the weather in the region has become dry again.
Earlier, the Hanoi standing committee of the Communist Party stopped organising firework displays in 29 locations on October 10 during the Thang Long-Hanoi anniversary to donate the money for flood-ravaged people in central localities.
