Fixed line quality checks show Viettel in serious trouble

The results of a recent study have found that the fixed line quality of VNPT, Viettel and SPT has exceeded the industry’s criteria.

The directorate of information and communication technology quality control under the Ministry of Information and Communications has just announced the results of the fixed network quality check of the three mentioned telecommunication providers namely VNPT, Viettel and SPT and FPT Telecom ADSL provider.

The results revealed that the quality of VNPT, Viettel and SPT (SaiGon Postel Joint Stock Company) exceeded the industry’s criteria.

Regarding the criteria of successful in-coming calls, voice quality and customers’ claims, Viettel edged out VNPT and SPT.

However, regarding the criteria of telephonic cable accidents, Viettel scored 20.78 points which is very close to “dead point”. That means the service quality of Viettel is on alarm.

Whereas SPT reached the highest scores in terms of successful calls made to customer care service numbers. At present, FPT Telecom and EVN Telecom have not yet been checked in 2009.

The results of FPT Telecom’s ADSL quality checking showed that its quality has been improved against last year but is not as good as VNPT and Viettel.
