
Vietfish 2018 held in HCM City
According to VASEP’s Chairman Ngo Van Ich, there will be 374 kiosks from 233 firms, up on last year. 153 Vietnamese firms will attend with farming services, frozen and value-added products. Vietfish is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors in and out of Vietnam working in aquaculture.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam said Vietfish was a place to bring domestic and foreign manufacturers and distributors together. Local firms will have the opportunity to learn and promote their products to the world.
Vietnam has exported seafood to 165 countries. Export turnover last year reached over USD8bn, showing that the seafood industry is thriving and improving.
Export turnover was USD4bn in the first six months of 2018, an increase of 10.5% compared to the same period last year. It is hoped that Vietnam will meet the USD10bn target set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
