The Waterway Construction and Salvage Ltd. Company was caught red-handed discharging the waste into the sea while salvaging a ship transporting clinker which had earlier sunk.

The company dumped around 1,190 kilos of clinker into the sea instead of completing its salvage duties as approved by authorities.
The area where the material was dumped is some 100 metres from the shore.
On July 27, Danang City’s environmental police completed the salvage of the entire clinker.
The municipal people’s committee decided to impose a fine of VND400 million (USD17,391) for the company’s violation. Additionally, the firm also had its excavator worth VND700 million (USD30,434) confiscated. The excavator was used to directly dumped the material into the sea.
