The Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Centre forecasts scattered showers and thunderstorms in Ho Chi Minh City and other southern localities on October 14, with isolated heavy rain possible in the afternoon and evening.
Temperatures are expected to range from 24 to 27 degrees Celsius at night and in the early morning, and from 31 to 34 degrees Celsius during the day.

The weather agency said El Niño remained very strong and continued to influence weather patterns across the south.
The rainy season is forecast to end within the first 15 days of November, around 10-20 days earlier than usual.
Southern Vietnam is expected to see seven to 15 rainy days in November, four to 10 in December and two to seven in January 2027. Total rainfall over the next three months is forecast to be 5-20 per cent below the long-term average.
Tay Ninh, Lam Dong and Ho Chi Minh City are expected to experience the largest rainfall deficits.
The agency also forecasts rising temperatures across the south in the coming months, with conditions likely to be warmer than average. Monthly mean temperatures from November to January 2027 could be 0.5-1 degree Celsius above the long-term average.
Residents are advised to monitor weather forecasts and prepare accordingly. During thunderstorms, they should watch for lightning, strong gusts and localised flooding. With the rainy season expected to end early, authorities also recommend conserving water and preparing supplies for household use and agricultural production.
