The HCM City Public Transport Management Centre has announced the initiative to reward frequent student passengers and encourage the use of verified passenger identification on public buses.
The first round, scheduled for November 6, will involve 10 eligible students from universities and colleges across the city.

The student with the highest number of verified bus journeys in October will receive an iPhone 17.
The remaining nine students will enter a lucky draw for a second iPhone 17 and additional cash prizes.
These include two first prizes worth VND 2 million (USD 77) each, two second prizes of VND 1.5 million (USD 57) and four third prizes of VND 1 million (USD 38).
The 10 shortlisted students include two from HCM City University of Technology under Vietnam National University-HCM City.
The others attend the University of Transport HCM City, the University of Transport and Communications' HCM City campus, HCM City University of Education, Industrial University of HCM City, HCM City University of Industry and Trade, HCM City University of Technology and Engineering, HCM City University of Natural Resources and Environment, and Broadcasting College II.
To ensure fairness, organisers have checked journey records against data from the GoAFC automated fare collection system. Students found to have manipulated records or violated the rules will be disqualified.
The centre plans a second round involving another 10 students to encourage regular bus use and reduce reliance on private vehicles.
