On the morning of October 14, Bac Ai Dong Commune Police said Kator Thi Kinh, a resident of Ma Hoa Village, had voluntarily surrendered a Temminck’s tragopan (Tragopan temminckii) to local authorities.

After receiving the bird, officials checked its health, completed the necessary procedures and assessed whether it was fit to be returned to the wild.
Authorities then worked with representatives of Nui Chua-Phuoc Binh National Park to release the bird into the protected forest area of Phuoc Binh.
Bac Ai Dong Commune Police urged residents not to hunt, trap, keep, transport or trade wildlife illegally.
Anyone who finds wild animals in need of rescue or becomes aware of wildlife-related violations should promptly notify the authorities so the cases can be handled in accordance with the law.
