
Ferry and boat services to Phu Quoc Island have been halted from July 27 due to high waves.
According to the Kien Giang Province Port Authority, the local sea is experiencing strong wind and high waves.
Therefore, they've decided to halt ferry and speedboat services between Rach Gia and Phu Quoc, Nam Du, Hon Tre, and Lai Son; and between Ha Tien and Phu Quoc from July 27 until further notice. Boat and ferry tickets that have been purchased can be returned or rescheduled.
It is forecasted that the sea area from Ca Mau to Kien Giang will see strong wind and high waves rising up to between 1.50 - 2.75 metres in the next 24 hours.
Earlier local authorities also suspended boat and ferry services in Kien Giang between July 16-20 due to the effects of Storm Talim.
