This is the situation of Ha Van Tiem’s family located in Yen Vuong Commune, Huu Lung District.
Hoang Trung Nguyen, head of Lam Village, said that Tiem’s eldest daughter Ha Thi Tinh died in April 2019 after the three-year struggle with bone cancer.

In March this year, Tiem’s wife who was in the 32nd week of pregnancy suddenly faced high fever. She then was diagnosed with leukaemia. Five weeks later, doctors conducted the caesarean to save the child.
In July this year, she died when the baby was almost three months old. The baby who totally lacks breastfeeding has been given powdered milk by his neighbours and relatives.
The family is in dire need of help
The family has incurred a total debt of up to VND200 million (USD8,695).
Earlier, Tiem’s natural father and father-in-law also died of cancer in 2021 and 2013 respectively. Meanwhile, his own mother Vu Thi Mo, 73, is also battling cancer.
After the wife’s death, Tiem has become depressed. He stays at home and rarely even talks.
