The Ho Chi Minh City High Command announced the latest results on August 10 as search and recovery operations continued at Le Thi Rieng Park.

The teams recovered eleven additional sets of remains believed to be those of fallen soldiers, along with seven sets of associated artefacts, bringing the total number of sets of remains found at the site to 256.
The search teams have expanded the operation around the second burial trench, deploying three excavators, a dump truck and two other trucks to remove more than 300 cubic metres of soil and reach areas suspected of containing further remains.

The search and recovery operation at Le Thi Rieng Park was launched on July 6 following the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra at a workshop verifying information about a mass grave of martyrs in the area.
Earlier, based on witness accounts and historical records, the Ho Chi Minh City Command estimated that hundreds of martyrs killed during the 1968 Tet Offensive and Uprising may have been buried in Do Thanh - Chi Hoa cemetery, now Le Thi Rieng Park.
