Drivers arrested for bringing foreigners into Vietnam illegally

The authorities in Danang City have detained two drivers for illegally bringing Chinese people into Vietnam.

Dinh Xuan Hien arrested

Danang People's Procuracy announced that they will prosecute the drivers Dinh Xuan Hien, born in 1991, and Dinh Cong Quan, born in 1989 from Thai Binh Province.

Traffic police in Danang City pulled over a 7-seater car driven by Dinh Xuan Hien at midnight on December 27, 2020. There were four Chinese people in the car at the time. They were unable to provide required papers for their stay in Vietnam. The Chinese men later admitted that they wanted to go to Cambodia to find jobs so they contacted a man named Lao Cui to bring them from China to Vietnam and then to Cambodia.

  

The police arrest Dinh Cong Quan

They crossed the border to Vietnam on December 25 along with Lao Cui. On the next day, another man received them and later they were brought to two cars to go to Hanoi. Dinh Cong Quan and Dinh Xuan Hien later brought them from Hanoi to Danang.

All of them were transferred to quarantine centres in Danang immediately.

After receiving the approval from Danang People's Procuracy on January 11, the police in Danang detained and announced the prosecution against Dinh Cong Quan and Dinh Xuan Hien. The police also completed procedures and transferred the cases of the Chinese men to the Immigration Management Department.
