Dozens of children with facial and skull deformities in Vietnam are being provided with free surgery thanks to 108 Military Central Hospital and Operations Smile.

A man, whose child is facing the drooping eye, said he knew about the programme online and hoped that her daughter’s problem would be dealt with.
A child from Thanh Hoa Province experienced two cleft lip and cleft palate operations and was taken to the hospital to be examined again.
According to Hospital 108, 64 children registered for operations and 50 have been selected. The operations, which started on Tuesday, will end on Friday.
Operation Smile will be responsible for paying VND5 million (USD217.39) for each child facing an operation and half of the patients’ Covid-19 test, with the remainder covered by 108 Military Central Hospital.
