A group of medical workers holidaying in Quang Tri Province helped save the lives of two tourists who nearly drowned after providing emergency treatment immediately after they were rescued from the sea.

On July 22, the Dong Hoi Ward General Services Centre said lifeguards at Nhat Le Beach had worked with the visiting medical team to rescue the two men.
At about 6 am, the two tourists, aged 44 and 47, swam too far from shore while bathing and got into difficulty. Rescue personnel quickly reached them on jet skis and brought them back to the beach.
At the time of the incident, a medical team from Tuyen Quang Provincial General Hospital was visiting Nhat Le Beach. After spotting the rescue operation, the team rushed to assist with emergency care.
The five-member team, comprising two doctors and three nurses, quickly divided responsibilities. One performed chest compressions, another provided assisted ventilation using a bag-valve mask, while a third inserted an endotracheal tube to secure the patients' airways.
After about 10 minutes of resuscitation, both men regained signs of spontaneous circulation and were no longer in immediate danger. They were then transferred to hospital for further treatment.
