Hien causes chaos at Tan Son Nhat Airport

According to the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, they have decided to ban 36-year-old Le Thi Hien from flying from August 27 to August 26, 2020. The woman would also be required to go through a physical check-in for the following 12 months.

Vietnam Airlines have asked their agencies to follow the decision and stop providing services to Hien. The representatives of Jetstar Pacific and Bamboo Airways also said that they had issued the decision to not selling tickets to Hien after receiving the notification.

Le Thi Hien, who is working at the traffic police division of Hanoi's Dong Da District, was investigated after the video clip showing she angrily showing and insulting airline staff at HCM City's Tan Son Nhat Airport on August 11 was posted on the internet.

She got angry and caused a commotion when staff at the airport refused to transport a suitcase in the free baggage allowance as her checked baggage had exceeded the weight limit. After realising that she had lost her boarding pass, Hien returned to the check-in counter and started yelling at and insulting an airline employee. The security had to step in and Vietnam Airlines refused to transport her on her flight that day.

Many people expressed their anger when she was only fined VND200,000.
