Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh has praised Vietnam–Japan special Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro’s practical contributions to developing cooperative relations between the two countries over the past 20 years.
At a reception for the Japanese guest in Hanoi on September 4, Minh was appreciative of his good sentiment towards Vietnamese land and people as well as his great efforts to boost collaboration between the two countries in the celebration of Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year 2013.
He said he hopes Sugi will make positive contributions to propel the Vietnam - Japan strategic partnership forward in the future.
Sugi Ryotaro thanked to the Government of Vietnam for extending the term of a special ambassador through 2016, promising to continue his utmost efforts to further strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations, especially in cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchange.
Mr Sugi also told Binh Minh about a plan to build a Japan-Vietnam music television program and some other activities aimed at bolstering future cultural cooperation.
