By late July 25, the ministry assigned 140 military doctors to Laos and equipment and medicine to treat 500 patients.
The ministry has earmarked around VND287 million (USD13,000) for Laos to deal with the immediate aftermaths of the dam’s collapse.
The hydropower dam breach killed at least 20 people, while over 100 are still listed as missing and over 6,600 people have lost their houses.
The dam is 650 kilometres from Vietnam.
Vietnamese PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Thursday agreed to send USD 200,000 to support the Lao government.
