The move came after an article about the condition of Phan Thi Linh, 14, in Thanh Chuong District’s Thanh My Commune, had been published in the newspaper.
Of the total donation, VND 228.9 million was sent through the newspaper, while the remainder has been directly transferred to the banking account of Linh’s mother Thai Thi Ha, 52.

Many donors have joined hands to help Linh
Ha said that she has five children. Her eldest child Phan Ngoc Son died in 1994 when he was just one year old due to a stroke.
Meanwhile, her husband has been struggling with osteoarthritis and pneumonia for many years, so she has become the family breadwinner.
In September, Linh felt dizzy and faced breathing difficulty. She then quickly faded. According to doctors at a local hospital, her condition was extremely critical, therefore, she was urgently moved to the National Children's Hospital in Hanoi.
At the National Children's Hospital, she was given the ECMO treatment owing to her respiratory failure.
Linh has undergone surgery and seen improvement.
The girl’s mother said that she was really surprised at such a donation from the community. The family will use the money to cover Linh’s treatment.
Nguyen Van Chien, Vice Chairman of Thanh Chuong District, expressed his great thanks to the DanTri/DTiNews readers to Linh’s family. He hoped that the newspapers would continue acting as a bridge to support many other disadvantaged cases in the district in the coming time.
