Danang officials want to pay for ideas that will improve tourism and the city.
Good ideas to build a better Danang should be rewarded
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said it was working with relevant agencies on a plan to buy ideas from people to improve the tourism sector and the city in general.
City authorities have received many comments and proposals from local people, mostly over social media, about problems in the city and suggesting solutions and new ideas to improve Danang.
Huynh Duc Tho, the city chairman, directed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to research some proposed ideas, such as building a rose myrtle flower road on Son Tra Peninsula.
Tran Chi Cuong, deputy head of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said one initiative was to reward effective ideas, including copyright recognition of contributions.
"It's difficult to put a price tag on an idea," Cuong said. "What we are trying to do is show our appreciation to people's love to the city."
He said most ideas needed extensive research, but the city's Department of Science and Technology is drafting a decree about using state funds to recompense innovators.
