The Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee has just imposed a fine of over VND90 million on a local bakery for violating food hygiene regulations.

Lien Hoa Bakery is fined and suspended after over 100 customers had food poisoning.
Besides the fine, the Lien Hoa Bakery has also been suspended from processing, trading, and providing food for three months and bearing all the costs related to the food poisoning, diagnosis and treatment for their affected customers.
According to reports from local authorities, more than 100 people had to be hospitalised on March 17 after showing symptoms of food poisoning such as headaches, vomiting, and diarrhoea. They all had such symptoms after eating the same cakes bought at two Lien Hoa bakery shops on Tran Phu and Phan Chu Trinh streets in Dalat City.
Dalat City Department of Health came to check the shops and found out that they did not follow food storage regulations. Much of their equipment and means of transportation did not meet hygiene standards.
