A video circulating on social media on the evening of June 4 showed a crocodile measuring about 1.2 metres in length crawling along National Highway 1 in Ho Nai Ward, Dong Nai City.
According to footage shared online, the animal moved across the roadway with its head raised, attracting the attention of numerous passers-by who stopped to watch.
Although its mouth had been tied shut, the crocodile appeared aggressive and was still considered potentially dangerous to nearby residents.

Le Van Tuan, a resident of Trang Dai Ward in Dong Nai City, said he saw the reptile while driving past the area.
"When I passed by, I saw the crocodile on the road with its mouth tied. It may have fallen from a trader's vehicle. Later, a man tried to catch it using a sack," Tuan said.
Authorities had not immediately released information about how the animal ended up on the highway.
Crocodiles are listed among protected wildlife species in Vietnam.
Individuals and organisations wishing to keep crocodiles for commercial farming or as pets must register with authorities and comply with strict regulations.
In particular, crocodile enclosures must be built to appropriate safety standards to prevent animals from escaping and posing risks to the community.
