Covid-19 patients face depression after recovery
According to the survey, 20 percent of the patients were depressed, 53.3 percent had anxiety disorders and 16.7 percent were stressed after recovering from the disease.
Among patients who had had high-flow nasal cannula therapy, 66.75 percent fell into depression. Similarly, 66.7 percent of the patients who had to use ventilators developed anxiety disorders. About 67 percent of the patients wanted to have therapy after being discharged.
Thuy said, "At first I felt a bit helpless because the number of patients in serious condition was high and I couldn't communicate with patients on ventilators. The work was easier with patients that had already recovered somewhat. Many patients were extremely worried. They don't want to eat or talk."
She went on to say that recovered patients often had nightmares and panic attacks. Thuy and her colleagues will help the patients recover better and rebalance emotions.
