Construction of SE Asia’s most modern milk factory starts in Nghe An

The 22-ha plant, which will use advanced technologies of Sweden, can churn out 500 tons of milk daily in 2012.

TH Dairy Products Joint Stock Company held the ground-breaking ceremony of the TH Dairy Factory, the most modern of its kind in Southeast Asia, on Saturday in Nghia Trung Commune, Nghia Dan District, Nghe An Province.

The 22-ha plant, which will use advanced technologies of Sweden, can churn out 500 tons of milk daily in 2012 and will increase its annual capacity to 500 million liters of milk by 2017.

By the end of 2010, the TH company will have imported some 8,000 milk cows from New Zealand for breeding. Two year later, 12 farms of the firm will have some 30,000 milky cows.

Mr. Tran Bao Minh, TH’s General Director, said the company has invited 10-15 Israeli experts to frequently work at its farms and plant, and will train Vietnamese people so that they can master the technologies in the next 5 years.

The company’s ambitious plan is to turn Nghia Dan into the biggest livestock breeding hub in Vietnam as well as the region in the next 10-15 years.

The HT Dairy Plant is one of 9 projects to be started or inaugurated in Nghe An this month in orfer to welcome the 120th birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890).
