Three people are missing while four others were injured when a fishing boat exploded in Kien Giang Province on June 24.

The explosion occurred at 5pm off the coast of Bai Thom Commune. Luckily a nearby boat saw the explosion and came to rescue people. They successfully saved four of the crew and called the coast guard for help.
Nguyen Minh Truc, from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Phu Quoc District said, "After receiving the news, we immediately contacted with the High Command of Coast Guard 4. They ferried the four injured fishermen to Phu Quoc General Hospital."
Three fishermen were severely burnt. The fourth fisherman, who has lighter injuries said there had been seven crew on board. He believed the explosion was caused by an engine fault.
The rescuers are still searching for three missing fishermen.
