The event is jointly held by the Ha Long People’s Committee and the Wanokai International Culture Association.
Under the theme “Integration, Cooperation and Development”, the festival includes Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange activities, shows of Vietnamese and Japanese traditional costumes, as well as dances and songs by artists from both countries, among others.
The festival’s centre of attention is the display of 80 cherry trees and 60 Yen Tu golden ochna trees and a wide range of other ornamental trees.
There are also 160 booths introducing tourism, trade, culture, food, fashion, consumer goods and souvenirs from both Vietnam and Japan.
As part of the festival, there will be conferences to promote investment in trade and tourism between the two country with the attendance of a number of Japanese government officials and representatives of the Vietnamese government, Quang Ninh province and enterprises.
The festival will last until March 21.
