Binh Dinh seeking to upgrade Phu Cat Airport

Authorities of the southern central province of Binh Dinh are seeking the Ministry of Transport’s approval to expand and upgrade Phu Cat Airport into an international airport.

Authorities of the southern central province of Binh Dinh are seeking the Ministry of Transport’s approval to expand and upgrade Phu Cat Airport into an international airport.

The information was given by Binh Dinh People’s Committee vice chairman Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang.

 

Phu Cat Airport

At present, Phu Cat can serve around 600,000 passengers at peak times. It has an annual capacity of 2.5 million passengers and can accommodate Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 planes.

Phu Cat would be able to serve 5 million passengers per year following the upgrade.

Binh Dinh is expected to welcome 7.5 million passengers by 2025 and the figure would rise to 12 million by 2030 thanks to the popularity of its beaches.
