According Ho Thi Xuan in Lao Bao Town, Huong Hoa District, said around 50 monkeys had congregated at her banana garden, damaging up to 350 banana trees.

The forest management board of the district said that each monkey weighs 5-10 kilos. They often appear in Huong Phung Commune area from 10 am to 4 pm.
The board called on local people to tighten control over their banana gardens from monkeys, and not trap the animals.
At present, people have put dummies near banana crops to scare off the monkeys.
Farmers in Ninh Thuan Province previously complained about being attacked by wild monkeys that had been destroying their vineyards.
