Swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien
Hoang Xuan Vinh stood out at the recent national competition for outstanding marksmanship, contributing one gold and one silver medal to the Army team’s supreme triumph with six gold, eight silver and four bronze medals.
Vinh has set a target of securing gold for Vietnam at the upcoming Military World Games in the RoK.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien decided to skip the third stage of the FINA Swimming World Cup after having set a historic milestone for Vietnamese swimming, earning one silver and two bronze medals - the country’s first world-class medals - at the previous two stages in Russia and France.
Vien will compete in the 8th Asian Age Group Championships in Thailand from October 1 to 4 before flying to the RoK the following day for the Military World Games.
The women’s volleyball team, Lien Viet Post Bank, account for the most members of Vietnam’s Army sports delegation. The women’s volleyball event will see competition among teams from five countries: China, Brazil, Canada, Venezuela and Vietnam.
