Airport authority fines passenger for hitting woman

The 41-year-old Nguyen V. is a resident in Vinh City. He returned to Hanoi from Sheremetyevo, Russia in March. While waiting for luggage, he had an argument with another passenger on the same flight and slapped her.

The airport security then reported the case to the Northern Airport Authority. He was fined VND7.5m (USD330) for assaulting another passenger at the airport's restricted area.

However, he hasn't paid the fine since then. The Northern Airport Authority sent letters to him, the local police and authorities in Vinh City. The Northern Airport Authority said they might have to use coercive measures if he didn't pay.

On April 12, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam banned the man from flights for 18 months. He then agreed to pay the fine.
