The highlight was a procession carrying photos of President Ho Chi Minh from the Kim Lien relic site to the Sen Village Stadium in the May 17 evening. The event was attended by over 500 people, including local pupils and artists.
Another highlight is the Sen Village Singing Festival running from May 17-19, with the participation of 20 art troupes in the province.
The Sen Village Festival offers an opportunity for visitors from across the country and international friends to learn more about the life and political career of President Ho Chi Minh, who is the nation’s preeminent hero and a world cultural celebrity.
It also helps Nghe An introduce the beauty of local landscapes and friendly people together with its rich culture.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) will grace the city with a concert to celebrate the 126th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh on May 19.
The concert Con Mai Ban Hung Ca (Forever Epic Song) will open with music pieces by veteran composers Huy Du, Hoang Cuong and Nguyen Dinh Tan.
The night will feature Tram Nam Nho Bac, Ngan Nam On Nguoi (Thousand Years of being Grateful to President Ho), a new production written for the orchestra by Vinh Lai.
The second part of the programme will feature performances by HBSO’s young dancers.
They will perform Con Mai Ban Hung Ca, a two-act dance choreographed by People’s Artist Vu Viet Cuong and Kim Quy in praise of the country’s heroic history.
The event will be held on the evening of May 19 at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House.
