The Doraemon Fund will provide 500 scholarships worth VND500 million (USD23,992) for pupils in the 2011-2012 academic year.
This is the 16th time the fund has offered scholarships to poor pupils who have overcome difficulties to study and actively take part in various activities.
Beneficiaries will be ethnic minority pupils, children of families with soldiers or wounded soldiers, and orphans.
This year all scholarships will come by post.
Since 1996, the fund has organised 17 ceremonies to present nearly 7,650 scholarships worth more than VND4.3 billion to outstanding pupils directly.
