3rd International Yoga Day to take place in Hanoi

As many as 2,000 people have registered to join the 3rd International Yoga Day which is scheduled to be held in Hanoi soon.

The event which will take place at Ly Thai To Statue area on the evening of June 17, said Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Parvathaneni Harish.

This is among activities to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th the strategic partnership among the two countries.

The two first International Yoga Days which were held in Vietnam in 2015 and 2016 attracted the participation of hundreds of thousands of people.

Besides Yoga, the events included many different art shows by both Indian and Vietnamese artists.

According to Ambassador Harish, the International Yoga Day was recognised as June 21 annually by the United Nations. However, this year, this day does not fall on weekend, so the Indian Embassy to Vietnam has decided to move it to June 17 which is Saturday. So, more people can attend and visit Hanoi Old Quarter.

The Indian Consulate General in HCM City will also mark the 3rd International Yoga Day on June 25 in Nguyen Hue Street in District 1.
