The launching ceremony saw the attendance of members of the organising board including Editor-in-chief of the Investment Newspaper, Le Trong Minh; vice chairman of Vingroup, Le Khac Hiep; and head of the Vietnam Fund for Learning Promotion, Pham Huy Hoan.

Representatives from sponsors of the tournament including BRG Group, Southeast Asia Commercial, Vingroup, and Samsung Electronics also attended the event.
In 2020, the Swing for the Kids charity golf tournament raised VND 1.82 billion (USD79,130) in cash and VND 324 million in scholarships. The money and scholarship were sent to support students from the flood-hit central region.
During the year, the tournament organiser also co-operated with the Vietnam Fund for Learning Promotion to present 285 scholarships worth VND1 million each to disadvantaged students in Thai Binh, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, and Nghe An provinces.
In 2021, the tournament had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the organisers still received funding of VND1.05 billion from two sponsors, Samsung and Vingroup to support students affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking at the launching event, Le Trong Minh, editor-in-chief of Investment Newspaper and head of the organising board said, "After 15 years, Swing for the Kids has become a popular tournament where generous people have gathered to help thousands of students with disadvantaged backgrounds, especially students from ethnic groups in mountainous areas. The tournament also helps upgrade the facilities and improve the educational environment at many facilities."
