Vietnamese national team leaves for ASEAN Cup finals in Thailand on January 3.
After enjoying a 2-1 victory as the team hosted their Thai rivals at Viet Tri Stadium on Thursday evening, the team gathered at Noi Bai Airport for a Friday morning flight at 9.20 am to Bangkok to prepare the second leg which is slated for January 5 at Rajamangala Stadium.

Speaking to the local media before the trip, the team's head coach Kim Sang-sik said that they are arriving in Thailand early to have more time for preparations.
"I want the players to have more time to rest and recover well before the match," he said. "Meanwhile, I will focus on studying our rivals."
The coach said that although the players are tired after the first leg on Thursday evening, they now all have stable health, except for Van Toan and Tuan Tai who have injuries from the previous match.
