With about two weeks to go before the festival, the street in Hoan Kiem Ward has already been transformed by colourful lanterns, lion dance heads, masks and traditional toys.
Cool weather on the evening of September 11 brought large crowds to the popular Old Quarter street, with families and children among those enjoying the festive atmosphere.
From around 6 pm, visitors began streaming into the street to stroll, shop and take photos against brightly decorated shopfronts.
Young people found plenty of colourful backdrops for photos, while many families used the weekend evening for an early Mid-Autumn Festival outing.
Children were particularly excited by the traditional toys and decorations lining both sides of the street.

Minh Trang from Me Linh Commune travelled more than 20 kilometres with friends to take photos and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Couples have also turned Hang Ma Street into a popular date spot, while visitors queue for turns at some of its most colourful photo locations.

Prices of Mid-Autumn Festival toys have remained largely unchanged from last year. Small star-shaped lanterns cost VND 20,000-30,000 (USD 0.8-1.1), while larger ones sell for VND 50,000-70,000.
By around 8 pm, the street had become increasingly packed, with foreign tourists joining local visitors to experience Vietnam's traditional Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere.
