The annual event, now in its 12th edition, will be held under the theme of preserving and promoting the value of southern traditional cakes.
It is set to take place at Binh Thuy District Square and surrounding areas in Can Tho from April 4 to 8, corresponding to the 7th to 11th days of the third lunar month, which coincides with the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day.

The festival is expected to have 200 to 250 booths and showcase various activities, including a ceremony to offer traditional cakes in honour of the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day on the morning of April 7, a competition for southern traditional cakes, and an ornamental plant competition.
The festival will bring together renowned folk cake and culinary artisans from different localities.
The Southern Folk Cake Festival has served as a significant event in preserving and promoting Vietnam’s culinary heritage, particularly the unique value of Southern folk cakes. It is also an opportunity for artisans and businesses to explore co-operation, develop folk cakes into a national brand, and pave the way for exports.
The 11th Southern Folk Cake Festival and related activities were also held in Can Tho last year, attracting up to 870,000 visitors. A highlight of the festival was the live cooking of a giant 3-metre-wide Vietnamese banh xeo sizzling pancake by 13 artisans.
