The festival will feature over 10 key activities, including a field survey of salt farms, an exhibition showcasing salt and spices, displays of models, artefacts, and salt processing technologies, seminars on salt quality improvement and technological advancements in salt production, and artistic performances.

Bac Lieu will use the event to host investment promotion conferences, which will also include a review of the implementation of a government decree on salt production and business management.

Bac Lieu is one of the country's key salt-producing hubs. In late September 2020, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism recognised its salt-making craft as a national intangible cultural heritage.

According to Pham Van Thieu, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the festival showcases the salt-making industry and unique salt products from different localities, businesses, cooperatives, and salt farmers. It aims to strengthen trade connections, boost production, and improve salt farmers' livelihoods.
