Minh Trang, 22, and Phuc An, 19, each spent VND400,000 (USD15.77) on the full package, which included around 20 glass bottles and some electronic items to smash. They were also provided with protective gear, such as clothing, helmets, shoes, and a first aid kit for emergencies. They chose smashing tools that match their strength to ensure maximum safety while releasing their anger.
The rage room is set up with pre-arranged items, providing customers the freedom to smash without the concern of damaging their personal belongings.
Minh Trang mentioned that she learned about the service through a friend. It offers her a new way to relieve stress, instead of going to bars.
Nguyen Hong Thanh, 26, the facility owner, shared, "We purchased the items for smashing from scrap yards at low prices, which helps keep the service reasonably priced, ranging from VND300,000 to 600,000 per session." She added, "Visiting the rage room helps me feel healed and relaxed. It’s an effective way to relieve stress without having to talk to anyone."
The concept of the rage room originated in Japan in 2008, designed to create a safe environment where customers could vent negative emotions by breaking old or broken items.
In Hanoi, the demand for stress-relief services is growing, making the rage room one of the solutions for those in need.
Surveillance cameras are placed in the room to monitor activities and ensure that everything proceeds smoothly.
According to statistics, most customers visiting the rage room are between the ages of 18 and 32, dealing with pressure from work, studies, relationships, or family.
The facility is currently experiencing a surge in customers.
