Thailand, Indonesia, and China were still three main exporters of cars into Vietnam with 141,328 units during this period, accounting for 93.23 percent, according to statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs. 

From December 1 to 15, businesses in Vietnam imported a total of 11,769 cars worth USD219.33 million. Among them were 10,091 cars with nine seats and under worth USD 175 million, accounting for 85.70 percent.

Indonesia surpassed Thailand to become the biggest automobile supplier to Vietnam with 63,987 units worth USD 934.40 million by the end of November, 2022. The number of cars imported from China reached 16,240 units, worth USD 670 million.

According to the department, Vietnam's auto spare part import value reached over USD 5.60 billion since the beginning of this year. The department predicted that spare part imports would sharply increase in 2023 as more cars will be assembled in the country.
