According to a report from local authorities, the accident occurred at 1 am on February 8 when the 54-seater bus was running on Nai Hill on National Road 1 in Song Cau Town.
"The bus, which was running from Danang to Dalat, suddenly crashed into a barrier and overturned while running on the Nai Hill," the report said. "It was raining and the road was slippery at that time."
The incident left three passengers dead on the spot and 27 others suffered injuries and have been sent to local hospitals.
The vice chairman of Song Cau Town People's Committee, Lam Duy Dung said that eight people were severely hurt in the accident and had been transferred to Binh Dinh Provincial General Hospital for intensive treatment while others had minor injuries and were staying at some local health-care centres and clinics for further monitoring.
