A report from local authorities said that the explosion occurred at 8 pm on November 13 at the house of Be Van Chien, 33, in Vo Tranh Commune, causing it to completely collapse.
According to some residents, they heard multiple explosions and saw fire, smoke, and firecracker packaging coming from the 100-m2- one-floor house.
Chairman of Vo Tranh Commune People's Committee, Bui Quang Chuc, said that Chien was staying in the house alone at the time of the incident and his body was later found in the debris.
Initial investigations showed that the explosion was caused by firecrackers and police are further investigating the incident.
