According to the construction permit issued by Tuy Hoa City People’s Committee on October 16, 2017, the Aries Hotel was authorised to have a basement, six floors, and a rooftop stairwell, covering a total area of 992 square metres. However, in early 2021, local authorities discovered that the building had been expanded by two additional floors, resulting in an illegally-constructed area of 196 square metres.

Subsequently, the Tuy Hoa City People’s Committee issued an enforcement order mandating corrective actions for the illegally constructed sections of the hotel. The owner, Le Thu, requested permission to dismantle the unauthorised parts within a three-month period beginning from May 26, 2024, and the committee agreed. However, the owner failed to complete the demolition by the specified deadline.

The Tuy Hoa City People’s Committee stated that this is the second case in the city where a high-rise building required the removal of upper floors due to unauthorised construction.
