The information was reported to Noi Bai International Airport by Japan’s All Nippon Airways on Sunday.
The 29-year-old female passenger sat at seat numbered 23K on flight NH898 HAN-NRT which departed Noi Bai International Airport at 2 pm on August 8 for Japan’s Narita International Airport. Upon arrival, she was tested negative for the virus. She was then sent to a Japanese hospital for quarantine.

Right after being informed of the case, Noi Bai International Airport co-operated with the Northern Airports Authority and All Nippon Airways for Covid-19 prevention.
According to Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of the Hanoi Disease Centre, the agency also received the information about the case from the Japanese side.
The centre is tracing people who came into close contact with the woman for isolation as regulated, Tuan added, noting the accuracy of the Japanese side’s quick test for the woman was quite high. However, Japan and Vietnam are working to conduct further tests to reach an official conclusion.
Since July 25, Hanoi has registered seven Covid-19 cases, all related to the outbreak in the central city of Danang. Around 75,000 people in Hanoi have returned from Danang since July 15.
The city is expanding the implementation of real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests for those people with roughly 40,000 to be carried out by Bach Mai Hospital.
