Hai Van Gate lying on Hai Van Pass is located between Thua Thien-Hue Province and Danang City. The two localities jointly invested VND42 billion (USD1.72 million) to upgrade the site.

Visitors to the site will enjoy free admission until the two localities’ decision on how much to charge.

The Hai Van Gate built in 1826 under the rule of the Nguyen Dynasty’s King Minh Mang (1791-1841) was recognised as a national historic site in 2017.
