Four crew members have gone missing after a fishing boat sank off the central province of Binh Thuan.
According to a report from the Binh Thuan Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, the accident occurred at 10 am on January 21 when the fishing vessel BTh 81650 TS was operating some 25 nautical miles from the La Gan area in Tuy Phong District.
"There were five crew members on the boat at that time and one of them, 36-year-old Le Van Hai, was found and successfully saved at 12 pm on January 22 in a stable health condition," the report said. "Meanwhile, four other male members including the captain who are aged between 34-42 remain missing."
The sea area has been seeing bad weather with strong waves rising up to three metres.
The committee has co-operated with concerned agencies to search for the missing crew.
